Refund and cancellation policy
Dvarn Isiah Ireland trading as Isiah Handy Repairs (trading as Isiah Handy Repairs) provides handyman and property maintenance services on site in England to consumers and businesses.
This policy does not limit your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable law.
Your 14-day cancellation right
If you are a consumer, you normally have the right to cancel a contract for services within 14 days after the day the contract is made, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
A consumer is an individual acting wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession. Businesses and other organisations do not normally have this statutory 14-day cancellation right unless their contract provides otherwise.
To cancel, email admin@isiahhandyrepairs.co.uk or write to:
Dvarn Isiah Ireland trading as Isiah Handy Repairs (trading as Isiah Handy Repairs) 37 Cranmer road London England CR0 1SR
Please provide your name, address, details of the service and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You may use any wording, provided it clearly communicates your decision to cancel. Cancellation is effective when you send your email or letter.
Starting work during the cancellation period
You may ask us to begin the service before the 14-day cancellation period ends. If you do so, we will ask for your express request where required by law.
If you cancel after work has started, you must pay a proportionate amount for the work properly carried out up to the time you tell us that you are cancelling. This amount will be based on the proportion of the service supplied compared with the full service agreed.
If the service has been fully completed within the cancellation period following your express request and acknowledgement that you would lose your cancellation right once the service was fully performed, you may no longer have a statutory right to cancel.
Deposits and payments
Any deposit will be applied to the agreed service and related costs. If you cancel within your statutory cancellation period, we will refund the deposit except to the extent that:
- you asked us to start work during the cancellation period and a proportionate charge is due for work already carried out;
- equipment has already been ordered to your specification and cannot reasonably be cancelled or resold; or
- another lawful deduction applies.
We will not make an unreasonable cancellation charge. Any amount retained will reflect the work carried out or costs properly incurred.
For business customers, deposit and cancellation arrangements will be those agreed in the contract, subject to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Refunds
Where a refund is due, we will make it within 14 days of the day you tell us about your cancellation, unless the law permits a later date. We will normally refund the original payment method unless we agree another method with you.
If goods or equipment must be returned before a refund can be made, we may wait until we receive them back or you provide evidence that you have returned them, whichever is earlier.
Equipment ordered to your specification
If equipment or materials have been ordered specifically to your requirements, or are clearly personalised or made to your specification, cancellation rights may not apply to those items. We will explain this where relevant before ordering them.
If you cancel after such equipment has been ordered, you may be responsible for the reasonable cost that cannot be recovered, subject to your legal rights and any information provided before the contract was made.
Faulty workmanship
Services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
If workmanship is faulty or does not meet the agreed requirements, please contact us promptly and describe the problem. Where appropriate, we will first offer to repair or repeat the service within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you.
If repair or repeat performance is impossible, has not been completed within a reasonable time, or would cause significant inconvenience, you may be entitled to a price reduction or refund. The amount of any refund or price reduction will reflect the circumstances and the work provided.
Your statutory rights are not affected by this policy.
