Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-10-23
About us
These terms apply to handyman and property maintenance services supplied in England by:
Dvarn Isiah Ireland trading as Isiah Handy Repairs (trading as Isiah Handy Repairs) 37 Cranmer road, London, England, CR0 1SR Email: admin@isiahhandyrepairs.co.uk
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Isiah Handy Repairs. “You” and “your” mean the customer.
These terms apply to consumer and business customers. Where you are a consumer, you have additional legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable consumer protection legislation.
These terms are effective from 23 October 2026.
Quotes and site surveys
We may provide a written quote following your enquiry or a site survey. A quote will describe the work, price and any important assumptions or exclusions that apply.
A site survey is used to assess the proposed work and identify access, materials, measurements and other practical requirements. A survey does not necessarily mean that we have accepted an order.
Unless stated otherwise, a quote is based on the information available to us at the time. If the work or its cost is affected by concealed defects, inaccurate information, restricted access, changes requested by you or other circumstances that could not reasonably have been identified when the quote was prepared, we will discuss the position with you before carrying out additional chargeable work.
A quote is not a contract until we have accepted your booking in accordance with these terms.
Booking and formation of the contract
A booking is formed when:
- you accept our quote or agree the work and price with us; and
- we confirm the booking or agree a date to attend.
We may decline a booking before it is accepted. Once a booking is confirmed, the agreed scope of work, price, payment arrangements and appointment details form part of the contract.
Any change to the agreed work should be agreed with us. Changes may affect the price and completion date.
Prices and payment
Prices are stated in pounds sterling. The price and what it includes will be set out in the quote or otherwise agreed before the work begins.
Unless agreed otherwise, the price covers only the work and items expressly included in the quote. Materials, replacement parts, disposal, parking, permits, additional labour or other expenses will only be charged where they are included in the quote or agreed with you in advance, except where an urgent step is reasonably necessary to prevent immediate damage or danger.
If a deposit is required, the amount and payment date will be stated in the quote or booking confirmation. A booking may be conditional on payment of the deposit.
The balance is payable at the time stated in the quote or booking confirmation. If no time is stated, payment is due when the work is completed. We may suspend or refuse further work where an undisputed payment is overdue.
For consumer contracts, we will not impose additional charges unless they have been properly disclosed and agreed in accordance with applicable law.
Your responsibilities
You must:
- provide accurate information about the property, the requested work and any known hazards;
- provide safe and reasonable access to the property and the areas where work is required;
- ensure that someone authorised to give instructions is available where necessary;
- provide access to suitable power, water, lighting or other facilities reasonably needed for the agreed work, unless we have agreed to provide an alternative;
- remove or protect personal belongings where reasonably necessary;
- tell us about asbestos, dangerous substances, structural problems, infestations, vulnerable persons, pets or other relevant risks that you know about;
- obtain any landlord, freeholder, building management, planning, listed-building, building-control or other permission required for the work; and
- ensure that the property is suitable and safe for the work to be carried out.
We may postpone, stop or refuse work if access is unavailable, the site is unsafe, required permission has not been obtained, or the work differs materially from what was agreed. We will discuss any resulting additional cost or rearrangement with you.
Scheduling and delays
We will make reasonable efforts to attend and complete the work on the dates or within the times agreed. Dates and times may need to change because of illness, adverse weather, traffic, material availability, access problems, emergencies, additional work or events outside our reasonable control.
If we expect a significant delay, we will contact you where reasonably practicable. We will not be responsible for delay caused by your acts or omissions, including failure to provide access, information, permissions or suitable working conditions.
If we fail to provide the service within an agreed period, or within a reasonable period where no period was agreed, you may have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right in appropriate circumstances to require performance within an additional reasonable period or to end the contract.
Consumer cancellation rights
If you are a consumer and the contract is made at a distance, such as by email or telephone, or away from our business premises, you generally have a statutory right to cancel the contract within 14 days without giving a reason. The 14-day period normally begins on the day after the contract is made.
You can cancel by sending a clear statement to:
Dvarn Isiah Ireland trading as Isiah Handy Repairs (trading as Isiah Handy Repairs) 37 Cranmer road, London, England, CR0 1SR Email: admin@isiahhandyrepairs.co.uk
You may use those contact details to tell us that you wish to cancel. You may also make your own clear written cancellation statement.
If you expressly ask us to begin the service during the 14-day cancellation period and then cancel, you must pay a proportionate amount for the work supplied up to the time you told us about the cancellation. This will be based on the part of the service already provided compared with the full service agreed.
If the service has been fully performed after your express request and acknowledgement that you would lose your cancellation right once the service was fully performed, the statutory cancellation right may no longer apply.
Where a consumer validly cancels, any refund due will be made in accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. This does not affect rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
The statutory cancellation right described in this section generally does not apply to business customers, although business customers may have cancellation rights under the agreed contract or other applicable law.
Workmanship and defects
We will carry out the services with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 where you are a consumer.
If you believe that work is defective, incomplete or not in accordance with the agreement, contact us promptly at admin@isiahhandyrepairs.co.uk and provide reasonable details, photographs where useful and access for inspection.
Where we are responsible for a defect, we will, where appropriate, return to inspect and remedy the affected work within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you. If repeat performance is impossible or is not carried out properly within a reasonable time, you may have rights to a price reduction or other remedies under applicable law.
Our workmanship cover does not extend to damage or defects caused by misuse, unauthorised alteration, normal wear and tear, pre-existing conditions, unsuitable materials supplied by you, movement or failure of the building, or circumstances outside our control.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.
Materials and manufacturer warranties
Where we supply equipment, appliances, fixtures or other products made by another manufacturer, any manufacturer’s warranty that can be passed to you will be passed on or made available to you.
Manufacturer warranties are subject to the manufacturer’s terms, exclusions and claims process. We do not provide a separate manufacturer’s warranty unless we expressly agree to do so.
This does not affect your statutory rights against us or any rights you may have against the manufacturer or seller.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- breach of your legal rights as a consumer;
- any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Subject to the above, we are responsible only for loss that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of contract or negligence. We are not responsible for loss caused by your failure to follow instructions, provide access or permissions, disclose relevant information, or comply with your responsibilities under these terms.
If you are a business customer, we will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings or loss of goodwill, except where such liability cannot legally be excluded.
Nothing in these terms affects any rights or remedies available under applicable consumer legislation.
